Floral Workshop with Charlotte Smithson

BOOK NOW

Join Charlotte Smithson for a slow and gentle morning with plants! This multi-sensory workshop is an opportunity to slow down, relax and reconnect with nature through creativity.

Being mindful of the present moment we’ll do simple grounding exercises, observational drawings and nature journaling from the comfort of the workshop. You’ll handle gorgeous garden grown and wild flowers, observe their delicate details and use them as your muse for guided sketching exercises.

If you attended Joe Hartley's ceramic vase workshop you will have a fired vase ready for use. Alternatively we will provide glass tumblers for anyone who didn't.

The focus of the workshop is enjoying the simplicity of observing and making marks in response to snippets from nature. We will immerse ourselves in the creative process and the wellbeing benefits this can have, rather than the outcomes of our work, so there will be no pressure to share or be critiqued for what you create. Zero drawing, sketching or journaling experience is needed - you are perfect as you are.

You’ll go home with some locally grown cut flowers, the artwork you've created and the skills to continue this restorative practice at home.
